Finish your degree.
C2C can help.
Do you have some college credits but no degree?
Complete 2 Compete (C2C) helps people like you go back to college and graduate.
Life happens, and we can’t always finish college on our first attempt. C2C helps adults who left college at least 2 years ago to go back to a Mississippi community college or public university and FINISH their degree.
Can you relate?
• Has it been a few years since you were last in college?
• Do you pass up job opportunities because they require a degree?
• Are you afraid that you would have to “start over” if you went back to college?
• Does it feel embarrassing to tell people that you don’t have a degree?
• Would it be a financial burden to pay for college?
• Is it hard to talk with your kids about college when you haven’t finished yet?
• Do you think about finishing your degree, but feel clueless about where to start?
If any of these are true, C2C may be a good fit for you!
As an adult, you have different needs than incoming freshmen when you go back to college. C2C is a free program that provides resources and support for returning students like you.

You Have Options
Completing your Associate Degree
Not sure where to start?
C2C Coaches are available at every Mississippi community college to help you make the most of your earned credits. While all associate degree programs are available to you, here are two unique paths available to C2C program participants.
If you transferred from an MS community college to an MS public university but did not complete your degree, you may already have enough credits for an associate degree!
By transferring the university credits earned to the community college you previously attended, your combined credits may be enough to earn an associate degree or be only a few courses away.
The Reverse Transfer Degree path is a traditional associate degree. As its name implies it is awarded based on earned credits from a returning student’s initial community college attendance, university credits, and any additional credits earned after returning to meet their desired degree requirements. The associate degree must meet all other associate degree requirements of the institution.
And if you desire to pursue a bachelor’s degree, your earned credits can be 100% applicable towards that degree! You will want to consult your C2C Coach, who can help connect you with an academic advisor at the university as you put together your degree plan!
Do your goals include completing your associate, then a bachelor’s degree? C2C can help!
C2C program participants who complete an associate degree can continue receiving C2C Coach and program support at one of Mississippi’s eight public universities or the University of Mississippi Medical Center. And if you qualify for the C2C Grant, you simply need to maintain continuous enrollment to maintain eligibility.
Complete your Bachelor’s Degree

They can put you on the best path to cash in on those unused credits!
While all bachelor’s degree programs are available to you, here is one exclusive to C2C program participants.
The University Studies degree is a cross-disciplinary degree program offered to maximize returning adult learners’ opportunities to reach personal goals, meet job requirements, and advance their careers.
If your college transcript and current work and family responsibilities make it difficult for you to complete the requirements of bachelor’s degree programs, the University Studies Degree may be right for you!
This degree option is offered exclusively to adult learners registered in the C2C Program who have attended a university in the past and came away with 90 or more earned credits but did not earn a degree.
The University Studies Degree is a degree option offered exclusively to C2C program participants returning with 90 or more earned credits. This degree path has a number of features that make it an ideal option for returning adults.
- Greater Options for Credits Accepted – Students can apply credits they have earned through prior learning assessment, competency-based education, or regionally-accredited Career Technical programs toward the credits needed to complete a University Studies degree.
- Individualized Curriculum – A student can tailor their coursework based on the coursework already completed and their desired career. Of the 120 credit hours required for the Adult Degree Completion Program, there is flexibility in the coursework selected to fulfill those requirements. The minimum requirements are as follows:
General Education Core Curriculum (IHL Policy 512 Core Curriculum) | 30 credit hours |
Credit in residence at the awarding institution | 30 credit hours |
Upper-Division Credit | 30 credit hours |
- Option to Define a Concentration – A student may have the option to elect a concentration that fits with their individual career goals. This discipline-specific concentration can be listed under the University Studies degree on their final transcript.
- Grade Forgiveness – Any failing grades received before admission can be eliminated from your GPA calculation. Credits from failed classes can be used to determine financial aid eligibility.
C2C Program and Grant Policies
Program Overview – Eligible former students who complete the two-part C2C program registration will receive the support of a C2C Coach and be eligible for all program benefits.
C2C Coaches are routinely staffed within the school’s admissions or advising office. They will evaluate your transcripts and, based on your goals, help you set up the shortest path to a degree. They will also meet with you twice each term until your graduation, providing support and connecting you with school-specific programs developed to help with common challenges faced by returning adults.
Student Lapse in Enrollment – C2C students who enroll in a participating college but, due to unforeseen circumstances, cannot maintain continuous enrollment are not required to meet the 24-month requirement to continue receiving C2C program benefits with the exception of the C2C Grant.
Participation and Consent Agreement – C2C Program participants and grant applicants are required to sign a Release of Information consent form agreeing to share information regarding their educational history (beyond public directory information) and participate in yearly surveys. This information is used strictly to assess and celebrate the program’s success and ensure ongoing improvement. Information is available only to C2C program administration and C2C Grant funding partners (W.K. Kellogg Foundation and Mississippi Department of Human Services). For more information, visit FERPA Notice of Privacy Rights and Release of Information.
